"Harry and Meghan said they were shocked, shocked at the treatment. But excuse me, didn’t they remember how Diana was treated."
And, evidently, the way Catherine herself was treated for all the years between the time she met and married Prince William.
And Sophie was given a bit of a tough ride too. By naming only Diana and Meghan you unwittingly link them in the way both Harry and Meghan herself want them linked.
I agree Harry is a troubled and mostly inept man who continually chooses the wrong path, but I can't help but feel sorry for the lad...he didn't have the unconditional love of a mother, wasn't expected to be much and reared by a family whose lack of love is legendary...his grandmother had one great love and that was her wayward Prince...I hope one day those Royals find a way to forgive and move through their many rifts...
Time for some home truths. Firstly, obtain a copy of 'Dancing With the Devil' by Christopher Wilson. An excellent author who digs up many secrets that were supposed to be hidden. It's an on depth background to all historical participants before, during and after the abdication. You will be enthralled with what happened after the Windsor marriage.
Firstly, Wallis was a doubly divorced woman, the second after her affair with David was know publicly. The press picked it up immediately in Essex. Wallis was a sharp as a knife, which in no way is a characteristic of Ms TV Soap Star.
Wallis had snatch the poor DOW from the clutches of his long- time mistress, the married Thelma, Lady Furness, a relationship well know in that circle. Wallis wanted the title and HRH, unfortunately, Elizabeth, soon-to -be Queen Mother, blaming her for the King's death, (not chain-smoking) and was completely anti.
Joan Collins, bless her, is too beautiful to play the woman. You look at photos, incredibly masculine.
The book will tell you some interesting medical facts. As will Clarissa Dickson Wright's auto bio (2 Fat Ladies, etc). Her alco father was. Royal Surgeon! (Her auto is stunning, 'Spilling the Beans').
It seems the POW has seen how shallow his bro is and doesn't want his family tainted.
His wife's name and title, richly deserved is HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales. The lower echelons will persist, (as you have, I notice!) as Kate Middleton. Not even her family call her that!!
Basically the Sussexes need counselling, in order to be Real People.
I dunno. I think Harry -- and Meghan -- are much more interesting than Will and Kate, who just seem like one-dimensional pinups. Harry is human, and he exudes his humanness, which is a brave thing to do...for anyone.
Edward VIII was king when he abdicated, not the Prince of Wales, having become king on January 20, 1936. He abdicated in December 1936. And, I think their combined Nazi sympathies had something to do with the requirement that he give up the crown in order to marry Wallis. Also, I don’t think Kate has played this nearly as well as you believe, see only Willy and Kate’s H&M cosplay at the polo match. There would be no need to imitate people who don’t matter to you, yet there they were holding hands awkwardly. My suspicion is that all that tabloid fodder against the Middleton’s not so long ago was the POW trying to distance himself. That was put aside in the aftermath of her health scare. Her mother at least has been fully brought into the royal fold. See her recent Ascot performances, where she has been chatting up Princess Anne. But Pippa has not been in the royal family’s presence, bar Kate, in at least a few years.
I disagree that Harry’s sad. I think he’d like to visit the UK more regularly but I don’t think he’d like to be here more than that. To say that the man who started the Invictus Games, Travalyst, is a board member at Africa Parks and, until it was undermined from within, Sentebale founder and board member, is somehow inferior to his work-shy brother is really not right-sighted.
It's a shame that you are so damning of the Wales. You seem to be deliberately describing history according to your theories! It's very 'Red Top' journalism to use nicknames no member of RF and close friends ever use for the Wales. Do try and remember their correct names! Princess Anne has been, quite rightly so, titled Princess Royal since the 80's. A terrific lady, I'm lucky to have met her. Go Well as the S Africans say!
Bad week you need to book an urgent appointment with specsavers. Mr Justice Nicklin previously represented Mirror Group Newspapers in this practice when he was a barrister a media specialist who focused on defending newspaper publishers. There appears a conflict of interest.
Love reading your pieces again, Myrna! I think fondly of a dinner we had in NYC and one in DC and when you asked me to write about widowhood for ThirdAge. I’ve missed your honest insights. xoxox,

Right, (rolling sleeves up!)

Their late mother would be appalled.
Hope you got through that! If you did well done.
I just want truth to be shown.

Thank you for this comment.
“The Trouble with Harry”—one Hitchcock movie (comedy!) I’d totally forgotten about!
